Danielle Preston is a Washington DC based costume designer working in theater. She has been so grateful for the opportunity to explore characters through the vehicle of clothing and while creating a focus on the human experience.

Recent designs at Berkeley Rep, Folger Theatre, 59E59, Round House Theatre, Everyman Theatre, Olney Theatre Center, Studio Theatre, Woolly Mammoth Theatre, Signature Theatre, TheaterWorks Hartford, Children's Theatre Company, Berkshire Theater Group, Barrington Stage Company, and Theater J.

Danielle holds a M.F.A. in Costume Design from the University of North Carolina School of the Arts. Danielle received the 2022 OPERA America Tobin Director-Designer Prize, the 2015 Kenan Costume Fellow for the Kennedy Center for Performing Arts,  and the 2013 A.J. Fletcher Opera Institute Fellowship in Costume Design.  Danielle received a Helen Hayes nomination for Costume Design in 2024 for Agreste (Drylands) at Spooky Action Theater.
